Associate Professor
I’m a mammalian cell biologist with interests in how the skin microbiome impacts on host responses in health and disease, including impaired wound healing seen, for example, in diabetes and the ageing population.
In my group we model human inflammatory conditions in ex-vivo and in vitro model systems, using cell and molecular approaches to understand fundamental mechanisms underpinning healthy and pathological tissue responses across a range of tissues.
We founded Norwich Skin Platform, through which we are expanding the use of our human skin ex-vivo models across the academic and industrial sectors. We are co-grant holders of the UKRI network Skin Microbiome in Healthy Ageing (SMiHA).
